Michael Dajour (he/she/they) is a photographer, producer and ceramicist from Atlanta, Georgia whose work focuses on capturing black and brown queer joy in a light that brings folks visibility in media. Michael finds fulfillment in making others feel beautiful, included, and represented through their body of work. Now residing in Brooklyn, New York, they inspire to continue creating safe spaces for young artists that will grant them limitless creative expression. Aiming to one day move back to their hometown, they hope to change the urban dynamics of Atlanta by challenging gender norms of the south with unconventional work that includes, but not limited to, themes of androgyny, expression of identity, and appreciation of queer pride.
Now working as the Visual Manager for Mobilizing Our Brothers Initiative (MOBI), Michael is also the producer, photographer, and set designer for Femme Queen Crazy Sexy Cool, a podcast of three black trans women that are prominent figures in the ballroom community that discusses social and political topics, powered by Black Trans Femmes in the Arts organization. They are also the co-founder of My Cousin’s Studio, an all black queer & trans photographers collective aiming to provide a creative space for new and experienced artists to hone in on their innovative endeavors.
